Gail Porter Confident With Hair Loss

One of the more famous people to suffer from complete hair loss in recent times is the TV presenter Gail Porter. She is now completely bald and has now come round to accepting that her hair will not grow back again. Gail Porter suffers from a rare the hair loss disease known as alopecia in which the immune system of the body attacks the hair follicles all over the body. The trigger in her case was stress, due to a heavy work load, the ending of her relationship and the worry of looking after a small daughter. She has also been suffering from depression

Gail Porter is famous for having presented the popular TV show Top Of The Pops and other UK TV shows. She recently underwent testing to determine whether her hair loss was permanent or whether it would ever grow back and was told much to her distress that the chances of hair restoration were very very slim.

The hair loss started in September 2005 and she is now completely bald, however she has decided not to be reliant on a wig and will only wear one if the occasion demands it. Gail says that she is getting used to being bald and now wears her baldness with confidence and is not so shocked everytime she sees herself in a mirror.
