When men start to lose their hair they can begin to panic. Most men when the hair starts to go get very self-conscious and are often at a loss as what to do about it. Many men change their hairstyles to accomodate the balding and this can make thinks look even worse. For example the famed comb over effect when a man grows the hair long on one side of his head to cover the bald patch on the top. This can look ridiculous and it can go all wrong if things get too windy and it blows over.

Another option is the complete shave off, when you completely shave your head and face the balding head on. This is sometimes a sensible option and a brave one too and different people look better with a bald head that others. Bruce Willis the Hollywood actor is a well known advert for the bald head look and is known to say that bald is beautiful. They wear their baldness with great confidence and this is the trick. Barbers recommend that when your hair starts to go that you wear it short and so the balding patches are not so pronounced and obvious.

Wigs and toupees are also an option, but when questioned women said that they found the idea of a man with a with more unattractive than a bald man. However for some people havong a wig can give them back their confidence and let them relax about their hair loss. The do come with their problems though as they can fly off, which can cause great embarassment.

Medication can sometimes work too with drugs like propecia and minoxidil that can stop the DHT formation in the scalp that causes hair loss. These drugs don't work for everyone though and can be time consuming to administer.
