Cialis is moving ahead fast and overtaking Viagra in many different worldwide markets. It can now claim to be the No.1 erectile dysfunction medication in 17 countries including one of the biggest European impotence markets namely France. In France, Cialis is better known than Viagra and is referred to by French men in the know as ‘Le Weekend’. The makers of Cialis are getting very bullish about the prospects for the future and claim that within a couple of years that they will be overtaking Viagra and become the world’s no.1 erectile dysfunction drug. America is the main market for Viagra and the drug still has almost 60% of the market and it is unlikely that Cialis will overtake the drug here in the foreseeable future but the rest of the world were Viagra does not have such market recognition could see Cialis making big gains in the near future.

Unlike Viagra that has been around since 1998, Cialis has been on the market for only three years making it a relative newcomer to the erectile dysfunction market but it nevertheless has 25% of the impotence drug market in the United States.

The makers of Cialis are planning new markets and they are especially hopeful to get some market share in Japan that is destined to be one of the biggest impotence markets. The Cialis drug is selling in excess of 1 billion dollars each year at present and it has a patent on the taladafil drug (the key ingredient of Cialis) that runs until 2017.

Cialis like Viagra is fact becoming a household name and is likely to be used in many different applications other than in erectile dysfunction drugs. Researchers from Eli Lilly are busy looking at the taladafil compound in the hope that the will find other uses for it. Ukmedix is following the progress of Cialis carefully and has been helping patients who could benefit from it in getting online consultations for the medicine.
