Cialis Deal Done

As expected and despite furious opposition the vote for the control of the Cialis erectile dysfunction drug has gone through and now Eli Lilly can add it fully to their stable of drugs. The vote was carried by an over 3 to 1 majority and thus the 2.3 billion dollar price for the shares of ICOS were approved. Overall 77% of shareholders voted in favour of the Cialis deal to go ahead.

The good news is that by restructuring the business we are likely to see much bigger profits for the Cialis erectile dysfunction drug and it is likely that a good section of these profits will go into marketing the drug. This should have executives from Pfizer that makes Viagra sitting up in their seats and planning new campaigns to ward off the Cialis threat to their share of the impotence drug market.

The deal that has been the subject of alot of talk and speculation over the last few months was opposed by some shareholders who felt that the potential gains and sales of Cialis could rise much higher but it appears that majority thought that the way ahead was to sell to Eli Lilly.

The downside for the people who work at ICOS is that around 700 are likely to be out of work since now that the impotence drug is completely owned by Eli Lilly. The CEO of ICOS said that he was happy with the result and that it was a good deal for shareholders.

Cialis that is the 2nd best selling erectile dysfunction drug in the world after Viagra has been stealing market share from Pfizer as it is seen by many users to be much longer lasting than Viagra. In some national markets Cialis is already the best selling erectile dysfunction drug.
