Cialis, often referred to as the other erectile dysfunction drug is considered by many people to be better and more practical than Viagra. In fact the marketing of the drug has been very successful in some of the bigger EU markets. For example in France Cialis is now the No.1 erectile dysfunction pill and has knocked off Viagra from its top spot.
Cialis like Viagra, works as a PDE 5 inhibitor or a phosphodiasterase 5 inhibitor to give it the full medical term, so its actual functioning mechanism is the same as Viagra. What makes Cialis the preferred drug in some cases is that its effects can last for 36 hours. This does not mean that the man is aroused sexually for this length of time, only that the man is able to be aroused during this time window should he so wish.
In France, Cialis is talked about as the weekend pill as if it is taken on a Friday night it can continue to prevent erectile dysfunction right into the following Sunday. Many users of erectile dysfunction medicine complain that the problem with Viagra and some other erectile dysfunction drugs is that the pill must be taken as much as an hour before sex and then the time window for arousal is limited. Sometimes sex doesn't happen like that and is not always planned for a specific time which means that the pill is either taken too early or too late for spontaneous sex. Some Cialis users say that because half the fun of sex is in its spontaneity and this is lost if it has to be carefully planned, using Cialis at least means that you can be spontaneous within the 36 hours time window or during the weekend.
The statistics on erectile dysfunction can be shocking to see sometimes with more than half of all men above the age of forty saying thay have erectile problem and with the vast majority of them not seeking treatment for it for reasons of embarrasment and inadaquacy. Some estimates put the figure of men suffering from erectile dysfunction worldwide at 200 million.
Cialis invented by the ICOS and marketed the pharmaceutical giant Lilly has a compund called tadalafil as its essential ingredient. Tadalafil works like sildenafil (Viagra) by inhibiting the enzyme Phosphodiasterase-5 that causes the diminishing of the cyclic guanosine monophosphate enzyme that in turn causes nitric oxide to be produced. The nitric oxide is the compound that functions as a strong vasodilator, dilatating the penile blood vessels and getting blood flowing into the penis.
The effects of Cialis as an erectile dysfunction medicine have been clearly recorded in many different independent clinical tests. One of them showed a more than ninety percent effectiveness statistic for completion of sexual intercourse for those with low to medium levels of erectile dysfunction. Other tests have shown lower sexual function statistics in the region of 60% but nevertheless much better than the placebo rate which interestingly always seems to be higher than in most drug test with 25% reporting better sexual function with the pacebo.
Diabetics who often have erectile dysfunction problems also responded well to Cialis however the FDA in the United States has indicated that diabetics must take extra care when using Cialis and must always have a full consultation with a doctors before using it. The side effects of Cialis are similar to Viagra with around 20% saying that they had a headache, and others reporting dyspepsia (10%), back pain (5%), myalgia (4%). There have been reports of vision problems with some of the erectile dysfunction medicines but this is has happened in such a small number of cases that it has yet to be properly documented. The FDA has however included a warning to this effect on the labelling of the drug.
Cialis comes in three different doses of five, ten and 20milligrams and is yellow in colour. Like Viagra, Cialis is sold online legally and illegally. Cialis is the second most spammed erectile dysfunction medication and great care must be taken before ordering it online.
