Mixed Reactions To New Cialis Offer

After Eli Lilly’s revised offer for the Icos shareholding of the Cialis erectile dysfunction drug the reaction has been varied. Recently the offer was increased from 32 US dollars a share to 34 US dollars a share in response to shareholder protests and very good financial results posted.

The Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) that is an independent share advisory and financial ethics group said that the original offer was too low and that they feel the same way about the 34-dollar offer too advising shareholders to reject the increased bid. The ISS argues that with Cialis’ exceptional sales this year the shareholders would be wise to hold onto their shares and not to vote for Eli Lilly’s full acquisition of the Lilly Icos partnership.

However not everyone agreed and another independent proxy advisory organisation called Glass Lewis said that they felt that revised offer was now a ‘financially fair consideration’.
The proposed Cialis deal makes sense in from a costs point of view and also because Eli Lilly will likely promote the Cialis impotence dugs more fiercely when they have complete control of it. Seven hundred jobs are almost certainly to go straight away if the sale goes ahead.

Cialis is the second most popular erectile dysfunction medicine in the world after the famous Viagra and many market analysts feel that its rapid increase in sales could mean that soon Cialis will make it to the top spot. Cialis already has revenues of almost one billion US dollars.

The big decision is to be held at a shareholder’s vote that is planned for January 25th at the head office of Icos and Ukmedix will be following the meeting closely as the outcome will likely effect the likelihood of Cialis becoming the world’s best known and best selling erectile dysfunction drug.
