All you need is love! No, we haven’t gone all flower power at Ukmedix News but we want to share with you some important findings that we have learned about getting people and especially people you care about to quit smoking.

Love and affection are far more powerful as tools to encourage friends and family to quit then nagging! Constantly going on about the negative implications of smoking can actually drive people into smoking more as they feel under pressure and under stress. When confronting smokers about their smoking habit you should focus on the positive aspects of quitting smoking rather than just the negative health implications of continuing to smoke. You should also be very understanding about the power of addiction and offer any support for help that you can give.
For example, if your boyfriend or girlfriend finds it very difficult to stay away from cigarettes in particular places you should offer to stay away from them too. Knowing that somebody is there giving you support is worth a thousand nicotine patches and other smoking cessation remedies like Champix.
When you quit smoking if you know you’re doing it for your wife and children as well as your own health you have a much more powerful incentive and knowing that they are banking on you, thinking about you and praying that you will quit completely should fortify your mental resolve.
The other thing to be aware of is that should you fail by having one cigarette, this does not mean that the whole smoking cessation attempt comes crashing down. Sometimes a dramatic incident like a car crash, a family bereavement or a moment of madness might make you light up, but rather than thinking this gives you a green light to immediately start smoking twenty a day again you should take stock of your situation and get back on track as soon as possible. The longer that you leave getting back on track the more difficult it will be to get smoke free again.
So remember, never underestimate the power of love when it comes to quitting smoking! When people ask you why you quit smoking say “I did it for love”!
