Quitting Smoking For Your Kids

he always reckoned that he would die young

Many men and women quit smoking when they start to have a baby. Most of them say that the reason is because they do not want to blow very harmful smoke near their children, however but in reality if parents want to continue smoking and not expose their children to the smoke they can always step outside or go and smoke in a different room. At Ukmedix News we were embarking on discussions about why parents quit smoking and we reckon that a number of other reasons come into play.

Quitting Smoking For Your Kids

Firstly parents realise how bad smoking is for them and the last thing they want to do is set a very bad example to the children by continuing to smoke. Secondly parents who smoke are more likely to get ill and die young and with the great weight of responsibility that having children brings with it many parents feel that they owe it to their children to stay fit and to live longer.

Recently Ukmedix News heard about the English actor Clive Owen who spoke about his struggles to quit smoking. He said that he always reckoned that he would die young but somehow being a single man this did not worry him too much. It was only when he saw his children coming into the world that he realised that there was much more to life than smoking and started to value his health more.

Many parents report that once they have children their lifestyle changes greatly and therefore they are in fewer situations where there is a lot of smoking happening  and it is actually much easier for them to quit completely.  It is almost to becoming a big social faux pax to be smoking parents these days. If you go to dinner parties with married couples and children in the United Kingdom and you light up you will get a whole range of frosty looks from around the table.
