There is great strength in numbers

Do not underestimate the importance of the help of your friends and family when you decide to quit smoking. In fact it is not really the people that stay at home when you go out who need to give you support but your friends who you go partying and drinking with. A friend who knows what you are going through and really wants to help you can see you when you are wavering and nervous because you want to smoke, and come over and give you that extra support. If you are in a place where everybody is smoking and you are not it is extremely difficult not to light up.

No Smoking Buddy Can Help You Quit

At Ukmedix News we believe one of the best things you can do is get a “No Smoking Buddy”. The idea of a No Smoking Buddy is a friend who like you is also trying to quit smoking. If you make a concerted effort to support each other when things are looking bad the chances of both of you quitting the habit are much higher.

Having a friend who is quitting smoking will make you feel guilty if you break the pact and light up. In fact the chances are that if you do light up and smoke your friend will not feel so obliged not to smoke and will light up also. There is great strength in numbers. If there are more of you, for example three or four the chances of you all strengthening each others resolve to quit smoking are stronger.

In the same way having friends who are unsympathetic to your efforts to quit smoking can seriously harm the chances of your success. People who have a boyfriend or girlfriend who smokes and are trying to give up also have great problems as they are constantly surrounded by smoking. If your partner wants to support you in your attempt to quit smoking he or she should not smoke in your presence.
