The beautiful movie star Anne Hathaway has recently spoken about her battle to quit smoking and how it has led her to living an overall far healthier life than she had previously. Many individuals who quit smoking also get to look at other aspects of their health and start to eat healthier and get more exercise. For example it is much easier to go running and get fit if you are non-smoker because quite simply you have a better pair of lungs working for you.

Anne Hathaway who confesses to be “an all or nothing sort of girl” said that she has also quit drinking and has become a vegetarian. She says that her skin has improved and that it makes her feel good about life. She claims that when she smoked she kept the habit a secret but at times when she was stressed she would smoke very heavily. Anne who has recently finished work on the film Rachel Getting Married blamed the stress on a hectic work schedule and a rocky love life.
Some people who say that they only smoke at certain times end up accidentally becoming completely addicted to smoking and become full on, fulltime smokers. Social smokers, people who smoke only when they drink, people who smoke when they are stressed and people who smoke on special occasions are all putting themselves at great risk of becoming physically and psychologically addicted to smoking. The pain of trying to quit smoking is far greater than any benefit you can derive from it.
It is very important that celebrities set a good example by not smoking as impressionable young fans like to mimic their idols. The supermodel Kate Moss has come under a lot of criticism recently for continuing to smoke and almost flaunting her smoking habit. Some movie production companies such as Disney have a policy whereby they do not allow smoking in their films unless it is portrayed in an “uncool” light.
