If you made that decision to quit smoking at the beginning of 2011 only two things could've happened.

You are five days into a journey which is the best action you could take for your health and your quality of life in which case you need to take stock of your achievements and proudly congratulate yourself for being smoke free for these five days. You should know that already you will have health benefits in the form of blood pressure reduction, improved erectile function if you are man and better sexual function if you are woman. You might observe that your skin is looking better and that you feel healthier in general.
You are probably finding that you are coughing a lot but which is something you should actually be happy about because it means that the cancer causing rubbish in your lungs from years of smoking is being removed from your body. Expect to cough for a few weeks before your lungs are fully clear and try to visualize your lungs getting clearer and healthier every time you cough.
The other thing which may have happened to you is that over the last five days you have succumbed to the odd cigarette. Never mind! Setbacks are a usual part of life and should be expected in any difficult challenge. However just because you have had this setback does not mean that you should quit quitting. The journey to quit cigarettes is a long and hard one fraught with difficulties and challenges and if you refuse to get back on track because of one or two hiccups you should just resign yourself to a life of nicotine addiction and its associated unpleasant illnesses.
You can do it like the thousands of other people who quit for ever every single year. Getting help in the form of smoking cessation medications can give you that extra push to make sure that you nail your smoking addiction on the head for good.
