Other Reasons Why You Should Quit

Don’t wait till it’s too late!

OK, so you know that if you continue to smoke all your life you will probably end up dying of a smoking related illness, dying younger and probably dying in great pain. For many people however this incentive to quit is not enough and they need to remind themselves of a whole list of other reasons why they should be quitting.

Other Reasons Why You Should Quit

For example men who continue to smoke are doubling or even tripling their chances of suffering from erectile dysfunction as they grow older. Women smokers also report lower levels of sexual satisfaction and desire due to poorer blood flow to the sexual organs. Women who smoke also have lower rates of fertility and male sperm from smokers is of poorer quality. Women should also be aware that menopause occurs earlier in smokers than in nonsmokers.

There is also a link between smoking and diabetes according to a report published in the American Medical Association journal which saw that the increased risk of developing diabetes if you smoked was 44 percent. The report also noted that the smoking diabetics were more likely to suffer from the severe implications of the disease such as having to have limbs amputated and heart disease.

Smoking has even been linked to a reduction in bone density which means that over the long term smokers are more likely to suffer from broken bones especially as they grow older and the bones become more brittle naturally. Smoking reduces blood flow all over the body which is why smokers have more wrinkles and look older than non-smokers. If you are concerned about your appearance the first thing you should do is quit smoking.

The chances are if you are young and healthy smoking will not have a big impact on your health and it is only later when things will start to go seriously wrong.  If you are still a smoker at this point it may be too late for anything to be done and that is why it is imperative that you never start to smoke in the first place and if you’re still smoking you should quit now!  Don’t wait till it’s too late!
