Obama Being Warned Not To Smoke

Not everybody who writes to President Obama gets a reply

You would think that Barack Obama had enough on his plate being President of the United States in a financial crisis without having to also receive letters from members of the public telling him to quit smoking. News reports coming from Washington say that he receives a considerable amount of mail from concerned individuals warning him not to light up again.
Barack Obama was once a regular smoker and promised to quit when he became President of the United States, however he has confessed that he would love to light up every now and again especially when he is stressed. Sometimes when people quit smoking they forget about it completely but for others the desire to smoke constantly resurfaces especially in stressful situations.

Obama Being Warned Not To Smoke

Mr. Michael Powers who was one of the many people who wrote to President Obama warning him not to light up again was said to be extremely surprised when he actually got a reply. Mr. Powers explained in his letter that his father had died from a smoking related illness 30 years ago and that if President Obama continued to smoke he might not be there for his daughters when they grew up. He enclosed a photograph of his father which was returned to him and told The President that his father died of throat and lung cancer. Not everybody who writes to President Obama gets a reply but White House policy says that the President will reply to ten letters every day that he gets from members of the public.

The fact that President Obama was a one time smoker means that he knows how difficult it is to quit and this should make him more determined to enact antismoking measures throughout America. Smoking in the form of smoking related illnesses and absenteeism causes a huge productivity burden to American businesses and also places and huge amount of strain on American health care.

Any money spent on reducing the amount of smokers in any nation is a big investment in the future of the country.

I hope he does not light up again, he is leading the nation and should be leading the nation to stop smoking and become a cleaner and healthier nation too.
