There are many different smoking cessation remedies on the market today and some of the most popular ones make use of the compound nicotine which is found in cigarettes. Nicotine which is responsible for part of the high which cigarettes give is a very addictive substance and that is why so many people opt for Nicotine Replacement Therapy when they quit. There are different methods of getting Nicotine Replacement Therapy and the most popular ones are nicotine chewing gum and more recently electronic cigarettes which contain water vapour mixed in with nicotine.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy can be a very good way of reducing smoking cravings especially in the first couple of weeks however a word of warning to smokers out there is that they must not think of the chewing gum or electronic cigarettes as a permanent solution to smoking but merely a temporary one. Ukmedix News has come across many reports of individuals quitting smoking but becoming addicted to the Nicotine Replacement Therapy instead. In one sense this is a better situation to be in then to be addicted to cigarettes because nicotine alone is much less damaging than nicotine, tar and the hundreds of carcinogenic chemicals in tobacco, but on the other hand being addicted to anything is hardly ideal.
The best thing to do if you quit smoking using Nicotine Replacement Therapy is to start reducing your dependence on it as soon as possible. Don’t make it part of a daily routine but try and just use it when cravings are very bad.
Part of the battle to quit smoking is psychological and you may find that you are psychologically replacing the cigarettes with Nicotine Replacement Therapy and so you need to learn to eventually just replace the cigarettes with just a deep breath and some fresh air.

Electronic cigarettes are not an approved NRT anywhere in the world. Calling them such is highly unethical and likely to bring regulators down on them to protect pharmaceutical companies interests.
