Reading smoking cessation tips and coping mechanisms is important especially in the first few months after quitting. Here are a few for you to consider!

Remind yourself on a regular basis why exactly you quit smoking. When you feel the urge for a cigarette go through the reasons why you went through the process of quitting and if necessary have a list handy so that you can read them out. It might sound trivial to do this but it really does work!
Drink more water! Drinking a lot of water can improve your complexion and this added to the lack of cigarettes can make you look considerably younger. There is nothing more motivating to continue your smoking cessation attempt than looking good!
Reward yourself with something with the money that you have saved from smoking. With the high price of cigarettes at the moment you could buy yourself a big present at the end of the month. A good thing to do would be to buy yourself a new wardrobe because as we have said in the previous paragraph looking good is a great motivator! You could also reward yourself with a luxury gym membership so that the feel good factor of looking good really kicks in!
Try and hang out with nonsmokers most of the time especially for the first few months of quitting smoking. You might find yourself actually really detesting smokers and you will suddenly see how stupid they look when you see them from the other side of the fence!
Use your common sense too! Do not drink too much alcohol and try and eat healthily so that you do not put too much weight on. Also, avoid negative people who try and sabotage your smoking cessation attempts in order to make their own miserable lives a little less pathetic.
No one ever regrets quitting smoking, but there are millions of people out there, many of whom are in hospital who regret starting smoking with every bone in their body! Don’t become one of them!
