struggling with the powerful psychological and physical addiction

Various surveys conducted with smokers give different results but the general consensus is that most smokers desperately want to quit! This simple fact alone should make you seriously think about whether you should ever pick up the habit in the first place. Surely you do not want to start something which you are more likely than not to want to stop, and yet be unable to. A recent survey done in America shows that 70 percent of smokers wish that they could immediately stop but they are struggling with the powerful psychological and physical addictive nature of cigarettes.

This survey which was published by the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly also shows that over half of all smokers tried to quit smoking last year and that 30 percent had used either counseling or medication at some point as a smoking cessation method. Other findings were that more than 50 percent had never received advice about quitting smoking from their doctor or from any other health care professional. The survey which was done using medical data from the U.S. National Health Interview Surveys involved over 27,000 individuals answering questions about their general health and smoking habits.

If you are somebody who has been putting off quitting smoking for some time just remember that each and every cigarette you have makes it more difficult for you to quit in the future. The longer you smoke the more deeply entrenched your addiction becomes and the more likely it is that you will fail, so make it easier for yourself and quit right away! Ignoring your smoking habit is a bit like ignoring a leak in the roof of your house.  It is only going to get worse and more serious if you ignore it. It will also cost you more money, do more damage and eventually ruin your life. So stop pussyfooting around and do something about it while you can!!

My friend swore that he would never stop smoking. He has stopped and is really happy about it, his doctor put him on champix and he said he did not suffer at all during the process and has not smoked for two years now.
