The movie star Mel Gibson recently spoke about how quitting smoking was one of the most difficult things he had ever done. Mel Gibson who will soon be appearing in cinemas around the UK in his new film called Edge Of Darkness described quitting as ‘torture’.

Mel Gibson who has not appeared in a film for seven years after trying his hand out at directing, producing and writing films said that after three days of not smoking he had the temper of an axe murderer. He said that after four days he wanted to beat people up with a baseball bat and that by day five he was dangerous with his lawnmower. Quitting smoking can make people very short tempered and irritable and therefore you should try and be understanding when around them at this time.
Mel says that he has been smoking since he was nine years old and that every single decision he ever made was done with a cigarette in his mouth and so smoking was very much part of him. He even said that his mother smoked when he was in her womb which could have even aggravated his addiction even more.
Well at Ukmedix News we wish Mel Gibson the best of luck with his smoking cessation attempt and hope that in years to come he will stay smoke free. It is especially important for older people to quit because after the age of 30 the likelihood of becoming ill from a smoking related illness increases every year. By quitting now Mel Gibson is setting himself up for a healthy, pain free and hopefully lengthy retirement and drastically reducing the chances of dying of painful slow death.
Mel Gibson’s new film Edge Of Darkness which also stars Ray Winstone will be released on the 29th January.
