using your iPhone as a smoking cessation tool

The fact that it is World No Tobacco Day today might make you think a little bit more about when you are finally going to stub out your last cigarette and face up to the fact that you are slowly killing yourself with a stupid and smelly habit. There's so much help and advice out there that there's no reason for you to fail even if you think that you are chronically addicted and you can't possibly imagine a future without cigarettes.

iphone apps can help you quit smoking

One of the newest ways of quitting smoking which is especially popular with young people is using your iPhone as a smoking cessation tool. There are a number of software development companies who are cashing in on the iPhone application craze who have launched special quit smoking apps to keep you smoke free.

The apps that have names like iQuit, Quitter and GottaKickItNow come with a whole range of different quitting methods. For example iQuit works by letting you input data about your smoking habit and then lets you know when you can have your next cigarette, gradually reducing the amount that you smoke every day.

Another smoking cessation app called Since iQuit works in a different way by informing you exactly how long you have quit for and exactly how much money you have saved. This might sound over simplistic but research has shown that the financial element of quitting smoking is even more motivating then the health aspect.

A word of warning however from Ukmedix News is that these iPhone applications are not going to do all the work for you, [in fact they are only going to do a tiny bit of it] but they can be a fun accompaniment to a smoking cessation attempt and may also help you to remind yourself why you quit smoking in the first place.

Remember with any smoking cessation remedy there is no harm in giving it a try. If it doesn't work is not like you've lost much and if it does work you've gained much more than you probably realize.
