Fear Of Hypnosis, An Excuse Not To Quit

So what is your excuse?

The excuses that people come up with in order to continue smoking are sometimes incredible!  The latest one being discussed in the Ukmedix Newsroom is that hypnosis can be dangerous!  Smokers seem to forget sometimes that the most dangerous thing that they are doing and the thing that is most likely to kill them or at least cause them severe discomfort from a disease is smoking and not hypnosis or some other smoking cure!

Fear Of Hypnosis, An Excuse Not To Quit

Hypnosis is in fact an extremely powerful tool which has helped thousands of people quit their smoking habit. Hypnosis helps smokers to focus their attention on why they want to quit smoking and to use their imagination to encourage positive mental images linked to smoking cessation and to also foster negative mental images connected to continuing to smoke.

From our research at Ukmedix News we know that a lot of people can easily get over the physical nicotine cravings that smoking brings but find it much more difficult to remove the psychological addiction of smoking. Hypnosis can be extremely useful for these types of people and often makes the difference between a failed and successful smoking cessation attempt.

So what is your excuse? Are you going to try and say that you are scared of hypnotherapy? You’ll probably find that you will be much more frightened of lung cancer when it creeps upon you suddenly and ruins your life.

Other favourite excuses that we hear Ukmedix News are:

“I’ll put on weight.” - Being a little overweight is unlikely to be as life-threatening as smoking is.

“I enjoy smoking”. – Read some of the Ukmedix News articles about people who regret saying that as they lie in a hospital bed having difficulty breathing.

“Smoking calms me down”. – A life-threatening illness caused by smoking could greatly increase your stress levels.

The fact is that people who continue to smoke are living in denial of the dangers that smoking is causing them or they are unable to quit because of the addictive nature of cigarettes. One of the first steps to take when deciding to quit is to acknowledge and respect the addictive hold that cigarettes have upon you. When you admit your problem it becomes much easier to deal with.

There are lots of different ways to quit smoking from smoking cessation medications, hypnosis and nicotine replacement therapy however the most important factor is you and your willpower to succeed.
