Ewan McGregor Afraid Of Death From Smoking

Ewan was extremely honest about his weaknesses

Ewan McGregor, the Scottish movie star despite appearances does not smoke and hasn’t done so for two years. Many of his movie roles cast him as a hard drinking and smoking man but the reality is very different now. On top of this Ewan hasn’t touched a drink for eight years either. He recently explained to journalists that the motivation for making him quit smoking and drinking was a fear of dying early.

Ewan McGregor Afraid Of Death From Smoking

Ewan was extremely honest about his weaknesses when he explained that he wasn’t the type of person who could smoke and drink in moderation and thus he realised that over time cigarettes and alcohol would end up killing him. Ewan spoke about how he would hate to have to tell his children or his wife that he was dying of a smoking related disease that he could have done something to prevent. Unfortunately for many smokers they realise too late about the damage that smoking has done to their bodies and it is only when the doctor informs them of a serious illness that they really decide to quit.

The only time to quit smoking is right now before your body starts to play up and develop life threatening diseases. All of us have different characters and different genes which can play a part in making it more difficult or easier for us to quit smoking. If you find it very difficult to quit smoking it may be that you have an addictive genetic makeup and being honest with yourself about it is important if you really want to stop.

Recently Ukmedix News wrote about the movie star Patrick Swayze who is dying from cancer and who certainly wishes that he had had the foresight of Ewan by quitting when he was young. For some people quitting is seen as an impossible task but you should never believe it because it can be done and there are treatments which can greatly increase the chances of you succeeding.

Good for you Ewan ;-) we need more people like him! It is so good to see somebody who actually cares enough about himself to quit smoking. Hopefully this guy's experience works as an example for some people out there that are having a hard time with any kind of addiction. It is possible to change, especially if it is for your own good!!
