The return on any investment purely from a financial point of view will be huge

More evidence that quitting smoking saves money has been presented by a new study which evaluated the benefits of the Massachusetts Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids.  According to the results for every dollar spent more than $3 was saved.

evidence that quitting saves masses of money

The research which was done by team of scientists from The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services worked out that the reduction in hospital admissions due to smoking related illnesses as a result of the lower levels of smoking would save a huge amount of money.

At Ukmedix News we have always argued that apart from the obvious health benefits of quitting smoking there is a huge financial incentive to throw away your cigarettes for good. It is not just the mere cost of cigarettes which hits your pocket but many other things such as increased health insurance costs, direct health costs and reduced productivity. It is estimated that the cost to America from smoking related illnesses is in the region of $100,000,000 every year and that over 400,000 Americans die young as a result.

If you are a smoker you should be aware of the financial implications of smoking and you might want to actually invest money now in order to save money in the future. The return on any investment purely from a financial point of view will be massive. Apart from saving on cigarettes for the rest of your life [you are looking at tens of thousands of pounds here] you’ll also be generating a much bigger and much more valuable health benefits.

Imagine for example how much you would pay not to suffer from emphysema, heart disease or cancer. You’d probably give every single penny that you could get your hands on not to get one of these illnesses.

If you are thinking of quitting smoking some of the things that you could invest in are a personal trainer, smoking cessation medication or smoking cessation counseling.

Don’t wait till it’s too late!  Quit right now!
