Are you one of those social smokers who just light up on social occasions which usually involve a lot of alcohol? You probably kid yourself that you are really doing much harm to yourself but at Ukmedix News we have plenty of anecdotal evidence to show that smoking a few cigarettes on a Saturday night will lead to a much reduced lung function for a couple of weeks.

This is an experiment you can do yourself if you really want to! Go for a run and time yourself around a set distance. Then following your next social occasion which involves you smoking cigarettes try and do the same run in the same time and you will see a big difference. If you are smoking say ten times a year you might think that you are not having much of an impact on your health but believe us when we say you definitely are.
Not only is social smoking dangerous because of its direct impact but it also sets you up to become a full time addicted smoker which really could take over your life! You should try to remember that every single cigarette you smoke damages your health and that no occasion is that special which requires you to potentially screw up your future.
Drinking too much makes you throw caution to the wind and in your misguided state you probably have a chat with yourself and convince yourself that having the odd cigarette now and then is something that you can handle. Well if that is the case why don't you believe that when you are sober?
Smoking is the number one cause of preventable death and illness worldwide and the statistics and evidence is there for everybody to see. Smoking is just plain stupid and thinking anything else and trying to argue any other viewpoint makes you look stupid too.
