Dementia, Wrinkles, Impotence And More Good News For Smokers

overall smokers have a poorer quality of life

We've all heard the usual talk about how smoking damages your help, yawn, yawn, but did you know that cigarettes can even stop your brain working from working properly? Sometimes the incentive and motivation for quitting smoking can come from knowing about other detrimental aspects of your smoking habit.

dementia, wrinkles, impotence and more good news for smokers

For example a recent study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine shows that smoking has a detrimental cognitive effect in the long term and brings on a higher rate of dementia and even a lower ability to reason with normal tasks. Research also shows that those smokers who start to suffer from dementia experience a faster decline than those who don't smoke.

Everyone should know that smoking is bad for your skin and can increase the rate of you getting wrinkles on your face but not everybody knows that smoking has been linked to an increase in wrinkles all over the body including your bum.  One study published by the Archives of Dermatology shows that even the skin on your inner arm is likely to be affected by smoking.

One of the biggest arguments in favour of smoking and which is used by smokers all around the world is that they enjoy it and that it gives them a better quality of life. Well actually according to a new study done in Finland and published by the Archives of Internal Medicine this is a load of rubbish. The report which looked at 1,600 men for almost 30 years shows that overall smokers have a poorer quality of life. This should be fairly obvious as smokers have a much higher rate of illness and general fatigue than nonsmokers.

Another two massive reasons to quit smoking which we have already warned you about at Ukmedix News are sexual function problems in both men and women and also a much greater likelihood of early menopause. We genuinely believe that the more the people know about the negative consequences of smoking the more they will find themselves unable to run away from the truth and will finally have to face up to the dangers of their habit. We just hope that they do so before it is too late!
