A study done recently at Duke University in America shows that certain food actually makes the taste of cigarettes worse and that other food items can make the enjoyment and taste of your cigarettes much better. The foods that were considered to worsen the taste of cigarettes were fruit, vegetables, water and cheese and the items that were thought to enhance the taste of cigarettes were coffee, alcoholic drinks and fizzy drinks.

Recently one of our news writers decided to quit smoking and spoke about how certain things acted like a very strong trigger which boosted the urge to smoke. Alcohol and coffee were top of the list and if you are trying to stop smoking it is important to steer clear of the things that are likely to tempt you to light up.
Smoking cessation researchers are slowly waking up to the fact that a smoking habit is less of a physical problem and more of a psychological addiction and that things like the visual experience and the daily routines that smoking gives people can be the things which are sometimes more difficult to give up than the physical rush that lighting up a cigarette gives you.
If you are trying to quit smoking you should also take the opportunity to start to eat healthily. Things like fruit and vegetables will actually taste better than they used to and therefore you should try to eat plenty of these. You should also get some exercise as exercise is known to calm the cravings that come along with giving up smoking.
The statistics regarding smoking are astounding. For example did you know that more people die from smoking than AIDS, drug addictions, alcoholism, car crashes, murder and suicides all put together. Twenty percent of all people who die in America are said to die from a smoking related illness. These are the things that you should consider when you desperate to have a cigarette.
It really is not that great to smoke and do you really want to die in agony from lung cancer?
