by far the most effective remedy for ensuring good skin was quitting smoking

One of the first things that smokers notice when they quit the habit is that their skin starts to feel better. Not only is colour restored to your cheeks and the white pallor that smokers Exhibit removed but the skin looks more alive and healthier. In colder climates, (such as in the UK) winter can affect the skin extremely badly as you are constantly going from the outside cold environment to a home or office with central heating that dries up the skin. Obviously being a smoker adds to the problem.

Quit Smoking For Good Skin

Research projects have shown that smoking actually causes dehydration of the skin and speeds up the process of ageing. Scientists have proven that the smoking reduces the amount of antioxidants in the skin making it more likely for you to suffer from the effects of oxidative stress.

If you are a young person who is worried about the effects of aging, (maybe you have noticed your first wrinkle) and you are still smoking you really are doing the wrong thing. You will notice the beneficial effect that quitting smoking has on your skin within a couple of weeks of quitting the habit and that should serve as a great motivator to make sure that you don’t light up again.

Skin specialists that we spoke to at Ukmedix News said that while other treatments for skin were effective such as applying moisturizer, and drinking plenty of water by far the most effective remedy for ensuring good skin in the long term was quitting smoking.

There are literally hundreds of other benefits to quitting smoking other than just good skin and they should also be on the list of reasons why you quit smoking. Once your skin starts to get wrinkles it is unlikely to go back to looking healthy on its own so you need to quit sooner rather than later if you want to ensure a young looking appearances as you grow older.
