One of our team from the Ukmedix News team is giving up smoking and here are some of his reasons!

He feels stupid every time he sparks up a cigarette. If you continue to smoke with the full knowledge of the harm that smoking can do to your health and with the statistical facts laid out for you in terms of the dangers of high blood pressure, heart disease, erectile dysfunction and cancer and you still feel that the little pleasure that you derive from the cigarettes outweighs the health risks then you are just plain stupid.
He didn’t want to feel lethargic and cranky most of the day. Smokers have less energy than non smokers and tend to resolve their lives around their cigarettes breaks. Smoking was beginning to rule his life and wanted to be the decider of his own destiny and not be the victim of some cancer forming addiction.
He wanted to be able to jog up to the top of the stairs and get there without breaking into a sweat and huffing and puffing like an overblown whale. No matter how often you go to the gym and work out if you smoke you damage your lungs and restrict their full potential and thus the full potential of you to enjoy yourself fully.
If you are young and healthy and you smoke you may feel that there is a lot of talk about nothing and that smoking is not really that bad for you because you feel fine. However by quitting smoking in your twenties and thirties you are investing in the future because the negative health implications of smoking will all jump out at you when you are in your forties and fifties and maybe by that time it will be too late to quit the habit.
