Dreaming About Smoking

One of our techie guys in the Ukmedix newsroom, (Edward) quit smoking at midnight on New Year’s Eve and can now proudly say that he has been a non-smoker for a week. One of the strangest symptoms that he has been experiencing and which apparently is not that uncommon is that when he dreams he often dreams of himself smoking. In fact he claims that it is a great relief when he wakes up and realises that his dream is not real and that he is still smoke free!

People who quit smoking experience many psychological symptoms for the first month or so of being completely nicotine free. The obvious symptom is stress and anxiety which can materialise in the form of irritability and nervousness and it is important that you deal with it carefully. Going to the gym can be a great way of relieving the stress of smoking cessation as well as other things like going for a massage or a sauna.
If you are in a situation where the craving for smoking is just too much for you to bear probably the best thing you can do is physically remove yourself from that situation. Get up, leave the room and go for a good walk to get yourself away from the temptation of lighting up. If you are in the pub and have had a few drinks and are beginning to waver, just get out of the place and go home. It is not worth breaking your smoking cessation run just because you want to stay in the pub.
Quitting smoking is like breaking out of prison in the sense that it gives you a great sense of freedom. Having that one cigarette will put you back into the chains of ill health and slavery to smoking. Quitting smoking is the most sensible thing that anybody can do and to continue smoking is probably the stupidest thing you can do.

Omg! This is a horrible article! Quitting smoking feels more like having chains attached to your feet. The person who wrote this news article clearly has no idea how hard it is to quit smoking.

I quitted smoking 3 months ago and I feel amazing and although I can’t take all those years of self-killing back, I can definitely look forward for a better and healthier life.
