She is having to 'fight a mini war' every single day not to smoke too much...

We reported from Ukmedix News last week that the rock chick Courtney Love had been told by doctors that she really must quit her smoking habit after they found nodules lining her throat which are often a precursor of full blown throat cancer.

Courtney Love Starts Smoking Battle

Well, Ukmedix News can report that she started quitting and we can also report that she is going through hell! Being such a hardened smoker who easily gets through 40 cigarettes a day Courtney Love has started cutting down to just one packet everyday but even this is proving to be extremely hard for her. She was quoted saying that she is having to “fight a mini war” every single day not to smoke too much.

At Ukmedix News we know how hard it is to quit smoking and we sympathize greatly with Courtney. Some people become more addicted to cigarette smoking than other people and if your addiction is extremely severe you should seek medical advice to help you kick the habit. Nicotine patches are known to help some people get their daily fix of nicotine however in the long term you have to remember that the biggest addiction to overcome is not the nicotine but the psychological addiction of smoking. Recently Ukmedix News has been researching and reporting on the new smoking cessation drug Champix made by the drug company Pfizer which actually works on the psychological addiction that people experience when they has been smoking for many years.

Champix works on the brain receptors that make you enjoy the sensation of smoking and unlike most smoking cessation medication, you take the Champix drug for a couple of weeks before you begin to quit the habit, the idea being that by this time the drugs will have had quite an effect on you so you really wont want to smoke. Like all smoking cessation medications Champix will not work on its own and a good dose of will power and effort is required from anyone trying to quit a smoking habit, nevertheless Champix can just give you that extra boost which may just keep you off the habit and get you back into good health.

Maybe Courtney should give Champix a try?
