We have noticed however that very often an incident involving friends or family can be the trigger and motivation to get people to quit. This incident norm involves somebody getting seriously ill from a smoking related illness like lung cancer or heart disease. Many ex smokers say that being faced with the stark reality of somebody they are close to dying or becoming seriously ill as a result of smoking brought the dangers of smoking home for them.

If you are contemplating giving up smoking there are many smoking cessasation choices available to you and you must discover a means to quit that suits you and is effective for you. All the options require determination on your part and there is no easy way out, nevertheless a helping hand from a smoking cessation therapy could be all you need to get there.

Probably the most successful smoking cessation treatment on the market today is the Champix drug that works on brain receptors which control the craving for nicotine. In clinical testing this smoking cessation drug has been seen to be more effective than any other smoking cessation medication.

Everybody has their own story to tell about how they gave up smoking and the determination and willpower that it required, but remember that at the end of the day the only issue that matters is that you quit smoking and the way you do it is unimportant.
