Woman Wants To Be Sent To Prison To Quit Smoking

This shows how seriously some people get addicted to cigarettes

Ukmedix News has learned of a woman hailing from Iowa in America who is so sick of her smoking habit that she has expressed a wish to go to prison so that she will be unable to go out and buy cigarettes. The news reports say that she has even called up the prison department and asked whether it would be possible for her to go to prison for a number of days so that she can go ‘cold turkey’ on cigarettes.

Woman Wants To Be Sent To Prison To Quit Smoking

The woman who is 39 years old claims that she smokes over two packets of cigarettes a day and that now she is having problem breathing. She said that she is absolutely sick of smoking and is desperate to quit her harmful habit. At present the woman said that she has been unable to find a prison that will accept her. America has a big problem with overcrowding in jails and therefore it is unlikely that she is going to find one that will take her in.

Not prepared to be beaten the woman went and bought a pair of handcuffs and told her sisters to handcuff her to a pipe in the bathroom for a week and only leave her food and water. Initially she said that her sisters were keen on the plan but backed out when they were concerned that in an emergency situation such as a fire or a burglary she would be unable to leave the house.

The above situation shows how seriously some people get addicted to cigarettes and how desperate they get to quit the habit. The reason why some people have great problems quitting is not just because of the physical high that you get from smoking but it has more to do with the psychological impulse to light up. The smoking cessation drug from Pfizer namely Champix which is selling extremely well in the United Kingdom is popular because it does not work on the physical aspects of smoking but is more of a psychological smoking cessation drug.
