Research coming from the Ohio State University shows that men who use hypnosis to try to quit smoking are far more likely to succeed than women who try hypnosis. The researchers looked at many different hypnosis studies and programs and saw that there was a 30 percent success rate for men compared to only 23 percent for women. The researchers said that they could not explain why this was the case and more research would need to be done.

Ukmedix News has come across lots of reports that hypnosis can be an extremely effective way to help people quit smoking but a word of warning is that it will not make all of the effort for you and you will need to make an effort too. Hypnosis can be used as just a part of smoking cessation programs and if you are serious about your health and quitting smoking you should make sure that you eat healthily, get some exercise and stay away from any situations which could make you very tempted to smoke for the 1st few weeks of quitting.
There are many hypnosis smoking cessation programs advertised these days and you should be extremely careful about who you go and see. Make certain that the person you are dealing with knows what he or she is talking about because there area lot of pretty useless hypnotherapists around who are not properly trained. Hypnotherapy is a complicated process that will require more than one session. A good hypnotherapist will also teach you mental behaviour strategies which will give you a psychological boost and determination to stay off the cigarettes.
Doctors and health professionals are beginning to realise that the smoking addiction is less of a physical addiction and more of a psychological addiction and that is why the new smoking drug from Pfizer called Champix is having such good success rates as it actually works on the brain and is not just a simple nicotine replacement medicine.
