Good Circulation Can Be Restored If You Quit Smoking

Written by Stuart Stevens | Thursday, 17 January 2008

people who have good circulation tend to have a much better quality of life

One of the most common problems that smokers have is poor circulation. This can cause all sorts of different aches and pains and in the long term lead to serious arterial disease. The poor circulation can also be responsible for you feeling cold all the time when other people around you are perfectly warm. People who quit smoking say that they begin to notice that their hands and feet do not get cold as much. Quitting smoking will have a big beneficial effect on your circulation within a matter of days.

Good Circulation Can Be Restored If You Quit Smoking

When you quit smoking and you start exercise your circulation should improve especially as smaller blood vessels will start to develop which will compensate for damaged arteries that you already have. Regular exercise over a long period could get your circulation and health to almost a point that you had it before you started smoking. If you have been a long term smoker the chances of you suffering from circulation problems and damaged arteries are much increased.

When you age your circulation is not as good as it used to be and if you have been a smoker it will be much much worse.  Elderly people who have good circulation tend to have a much better quality of life than those people who have smoked and thus are suffering from poor circulation.

By quitting smoking when you are still healthy and young you are investing in the quality of your life of your old age. By waiting for yourself to get sick before you do anything about your smoking habit is to put it frankly, extremely stupid. The chances are that if you wait till you get a serious illness it could be too late for you to quit.

Invest in your future! Quit smoking now, put the money you save into something worthwhile, get some exercise and enjoy your life to the full!
