Brad Pitt Joins The Non Smoking Club

Brad is well past the date when he should have quit smoking

The movie star Brad Pitt has finally quit smoking! Brad who has battled with a smoking addiction for years has said that having children was one of the biggest motivations to help him quit. He realised that he was setting them a bad example, exposing them to second hand cigarette smoke as well as damaging his own health.

Brad who has six children, (some of them adopted) with his equally famous girlfriend Angelina Jolie was probably also helped by her influence too. Brad who is now 45 years old is well past the date when he should have quit smoking. It is a good thing that he has quit now and this has possibly been inspired by seeing his fellow movie star and Hollywood pal Patrick Swayze getting cancer which was almost certainly as a result of his smoking.

If you quit smoking before you are 30 you almost completely eradicate the chances of any long term damage to your body from smoking after a few years. The later you leave it the greater the chances are that you will get some serious smoking related disease. Brad could maybe give some of his celebrity friends a little bit of encouragement to quit themselves. Kate Moss for example is one person who needs the low down on what smoking is doing to her health.

Another thing which Brad could do is to support the campaign to stop smoking being portrayed in films as being hip and cool and instead influence film directors into portraying smoking as being a stupid and pathetic habit. The power of movie stars to influence fashion and trends is huge and they could have a big impact on lowering smoking rates among young impressionable people.

From all of us in the Ukmedix Newsroom we wish Brad Pitt the best of luck in his smoking cessation attempt.

Count on your fingers from the date of Jen & Brad's separation and subsequent filing of the divorce, and the time when Angelina got pregnant with Shiloh.....and then tell me they did not have an affair!!! ANGELINA GOT PREGNANT BEFORE BRAD WAS EVEN DIVORCED!! Do the math, people!! Angelina always has been and always will be a slut, and Brad is a jerk for doing what he's done and pretending all was done "on the up and up" - I don't believe that for a minute, since I can add and subtract!!!

The Film Industry is largely responsible for the forecasted “One Billion Tobacco Deaths this Century” W.H.O. That figure is so large it works out to be more than 15 times greater than the total war dead of the 20th century.

Those who are responsible for enticing vulnerable children into this holocaust deserve no mercy.

Well done Brad for taking this step. I am sure it will influence many people. As for 'Memory Floyd' What's your problem? what you wrote has nothing to do with giving up smoking.

It's a free country. MemoryFloyd can say whatever is on their mind. This comment from MemoryFloyd is at least logical, simple and will hopefully put an end to all the neverending questions and secondguessing by people who constantly are interested in this. But, back to the smoking thing...well done! And yes, if ads and TV stars made smoking look pathetic and stupid it would greatly influence kids to stay away from this drug, just like James Dean and Humphrey and Rock stars etc etc..influenced us to think it IS cool to smoke. But it's not. It's cool to say'no' and use your time and money towards something awesome..that's what kids need to hear.
