Good news for the maker of the weight loss medication Acomplia is that approval for the sale of the drug in Switzerland has gone through. Sanofi Aventis announced today that the approval is for either obese or overweight men and women who also have one other type of related cardiovascular problem. Doctors are allowed to prescribe the Acomplia weight loss drug provided they also recommend a healthy low fat diet and physical exercise for their patients who must also be suffering from some form of illness like diabetes or high blood pressure.

Acomplia has been one of the most tested weight loss drugs in history and in clinical testing has been shown to reduce weight and the circumference of people’s waists. The drug has also been shown to help reduce blood sugar levels, boost good cholesterol and lower bad cholesterol as well as to suppress the appetite in people who use Acomplia.
The UK was the first European country to license the use of Acomplia and has been selling it now for ten months. So far the reaction from the public and from doctors has been extremely positive and it is continuing to sell well. Acomplia works by interacting with the section of the brain that tells you that you are hungry and thus you feel no desire to eat. Despite positive feedback for the drug in the UK it still has not been licensed for approval in the United States however the FDA who are responsible for giving the drug the approval have said that they will issue a ruling in June 2007.
Despite that Acomplia has been shown to help the health of overweight and obese people in other ways than just purely helping them to shed their weight it is still widely considered to be just another diet drug. At Ukmedix News we have seen literally hundreds of reports about the good affects of Acomplia and can grudgingly concede that it is not simply an appetite suppressant but alsosomething that can help you with say diabetes and other obesity related illnesses.
