Acomplia is approved for sale in 37 countries around the globe...

At Ukmedix News we have followed the development of the obesity drug Acomplia for some time now and we know that it was launched for the European market after extensive clinical trials were conducted involving many thousands of people. The European Medicines Agency or the EMEA for short is considered to be one of the world strictest and most thorough health regulatory agencies and the fact that Acomplia causes depression in a tiny proportion of people who use it was noted by the EMEA and is therefore written up in the weight loss drug’s accompanying literature.

EMEA Rechecking Acomplia Data

So when the Food & Drug Administration of the United States noted that the Acomplia drug could cause depression in some people it was not a surprise to the EMEA. The only difference is that the FDA were of the opinion that the drug needed further testing before it could be approved in America.

Hundreds of thousands of individuals have now used the Acomplia drug in Europe over the last year since it has been for sale and there has been no fallout or recall for this novel weight loss drug. This leads us to conclude at Ukmedix News that if there are any serious depression side effects they are extremely small in number. Nevertheless it should be known that Acomplia like practically every other drug on the market does have side effects and these should be made aware to patients and doctors.

In light of the FDA ruling in the United States of America the European Medicine Agency has decided to look at the clinical testing of Acomplia again just to be extra safe and is likely to issue a statement sometime in the near future. In all Acomplia is approved for sale in 37 countries around the globe and is considered by many doctors and patients to be the most effective weight loss drug on the market.
